SEASONING HERBS

Seasoning herbs are naturally occurring botanical plants (and their parts in fresh dried form) which are added to food items to enhance taste, aroma, and flavor along with health benefits. Seasoning is the process of adding herbs, salts, or spices to food to enhance the flavor.

In broad terms, both herbs and spices come from plants but herbs are the fresh part (in dried form, by using suitable drying procedures, to improve its storage time) of the plant while spice is the naturally dried root, dried stalk, seed, or dried fruit of the plant and is almost always dried not fresh. Both herbs and spices add flavor to the dish, however, herbs are more subtle while spices have a stronger flavor..
